VENTING HOB UPDATE
Driven by our commitment to always enhance the functionality of our kitchens, we've been refining our venting hob units.
Venting hob units that are 560mm deep are to be used with hobs that don’t require ducting and are still fitted with 400mm deep drawers – no cutlery tray is available at this size.
Venting hob units that are 610mm deep can be used with all types. This unit now has a reduced void, allowing the fit of 450mm deep drawers which is a new part of our offering – a cutlery tray is available at this size.
When dealing with venting hobs that require ducting, using a 610mm deep unit is the right choice due to several key factors:
Ducting Space Requirements:
o Venting hobs that use ducting need to accommodate not only the hob itself but also the ductwork for exhaust air. This ducting usually requires a certain amount of depth and space to ensure proper installation and effective ventilation. A 610mm deep unit provides enough room to house this ductwork without compromising the functionality of the cabinet.
2. Clearance and Installation:
o The 610mm depth allows for adequate clearance between the back of the cabinet and the hob. This space is crucial for routing, ducting and ensuring that it is installed correctly without interference. If the cabinet were shallower, there might not be enough room to install the necessary ductwork or to allow for proper ventilation.
3. Integration of Components:
o Many venting hobs with ducting systems are designed to be integrated into cabinetry that is at least 610mm deep. This depth allows for the full integration of the hob and its ventilation system, ensuring that both fit comfortably within the unit. This setup prevents issues with protruding or poorly aligned components, which can impact both performance and aesthetics.
4. Optimised Drawer Space:
o With a 610mm deep unit, designers can maximise drawer space and storage while still accommodating the ducting system. This depth strikes a good balance between allowing for effective ventilation and providing ample storage below the hob.
