IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON BEDROOM MIRRORED DOORS

We would like to make you aware of an important detail regarding bedroom mirror doors. The mirrors include a green protective backing which will be visible on the rear of the door when opened

We sincerely apologise for any confusion or inconvenience this may cause. Please be assured that this finish is completely normal, it serves to protect the mirror during production, transport and everyday use. This does not affect the reflection quality or appearance when the door is closed

We greatly appreciate your understanding and attention to this detail when placing your order. If you have any questions or concerns, our team is always available to assist you.

INNOVATION IN EVERY EDGE

We’re excited to share another step forward in our ongoing journey of innovation and improvement.

Over the past few months, we’ve been gradually introducing upgrades to our edging technology, a change that’s already making a real difference to the quality and finish of our cabinets. After a successful transition period and extensive quality testing, we’re proud to say that all panels in our cabinets are now edged using advanced polyurethane (PU) glue technology.

This move follows the installation of our new Homag EDGETEQ S-500 edge bander with return table and XES 200 vacuum tank, along with an upgrade to our existing Homag PROFILINI Edger, now equipped with a PUR NORDSON system. Together, these machines give us the flexibility and precision to deliver consistently perfect edges, every time.

Our £300,000 investment in this technology has already paid dividends - PU edging provides a noticeably cleaner finish, greater moisture resistance and improved long-term durability compared with traditional EVA (hot melt) glue. It’s a key part of ensuring every cabinet meets the high standards our customers expect, and supports our 25-year product guarantee.

Beyond the improved finish, the new edge banding setup also brings gains in efficiency and consistency, helping our production teams work more effectively without compromising on craftsmanship.

This upgrade is another milestone in our ongoing programme of factory development. It reflects our continued commitment to investing in the latest technology, refining our processes and delivering products that not only look great but stand the test of time.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple goal: to keep improving, keep learning, and keep producing cabinets we’re genuinely proud of.

UPDATED UNIT HEIGHTS

Starting with Express, we have updated unit heights for Larders, Fridge Freezer and Appliance housings.

This is following a growing trend in the use of skirting plinth with lay-on doors and helps achieve even door spacing across popular stock door sizes.

In express these changes have been applied to any jobs being nested from this week onwards for the following sizes

Short  1820mm  -> 1825mm

Medium 1967.5mm  -> 1970mm

Tall   2145mm  -> 2150mm

Note to fitters, when fitting integrated appliances please allow for the 2.5mm door tolerance at the bottoms of units introduced by these changes

If ordering units for existing projects please check the heights delivered to ensure any replacement / adjacent units will match correctly

Our standard range of units will follow in a future update.

The Express Tech guide has been updated on the Info Hub

UPDATED FRIDGE FREEZER UNITS

Please be advised that, for all jobs scheduled from today onward, the aperture at the back of fridge freezers will be changed. The required service void will now be a minimum of 160 mm, which means you will begin to see housing units supplied with smaller top sections.

Due to recent changes in energy efficiency ratings for built-in refrigeration appliances, increased ventilation is now required across all major brands. Through our own experience, we have seen that installations incorporating bulkheads or infills can significantly reduce ventilation, which in turn has been linked to appliance failures. As part of our continual product development, we strive to deliver market-leading products, and we believe this change will help reduce the failure rate of built-in refrigeration appliances.

While the service void alone is not sufficient to ventilate the product, it does make it easier for warm air to escape from the void, reducing the chance of the compressor overheating. Please ensure you ALWAYS refer to the appliance manufacturer’s installation instructions.

This update will also affect Express fridge units. Fitters must ensure they are using the short shelves for the top section. To support this, we will now be supplying two short shelves with every medium and tall unit.

Please ensure all fitting teams are made aware of these changes.
