We would also like to advise you that we are changing our Standard Housing unit height. This change affects lay on doors only and does not affect our Handleless or In frame Ranges. We initially planned to make this alteration last year and have previously notified you about this, but delayed due to additional work being required to make the switch. We have now completed the background work so we are able to proceed with this improvement.

We are changing our standard housing height from 1965mm to 1967.5mm. The main reason for this change is due to the increased popularity of full height doors which are sized at 1965mm by door manufacturers. If we supply a 1965mm door on a 1965mm cabinet, then the door will bind with the cornice/corpel. In addition to this, when used alongside a wall unit that has a 2.5mm gap between the top of the door and the top of the unit, the door would not align. Moving to a 1967.5mm carcase size allows us to alleviate this and makes it much easier to align doors.

Our Handleless range is already supplied at 1967.5mm and we are also seeing an increase in customers combining handleless units with standard units that are equipped with push to open. This change also ensures there is not a mismatch between carcase heights when the two carcase systems are used in conjunction.

In addition to the Housing sizes, we will also be adjusting the heights of Larder top units, dresser units and tambour dresser units to ensure that units all align correctly. We will be running through this transition throughout January and will be automatically updating your jobs to suit these changes.
