3 June 2020

As we see the lifting of some restrictions, we have been working hard to develop a safe working practice that meets customers needs but most importantly helps keep staff and customers safe.
From Monday 8th June we will be rolling out changes that enable us to make two-man deliveries into properties and no longer just deliver to the kerbside.
Our risk assessment for this requires some input from you, should you wish to take advantage of this. Without this information, we will be making kerbside deliveries, so it is essential that we receive the following information from you for any drops that we make to you, or on your behalf into your customers properties.
The following pre-delivery information will be required for each drop and our Transport Managers will contact prior to your delivery date, but we ask that you prepare this information in advance of us contacting you:
Confirmation that no-one directly in the household, or anyone who has recently come into contact with anyone in the household is exhibiting any of the following symptoms:High temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
New, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Has anyone in the property recently returned from abroad.
Confirmation that no-one in the household is self-isolating due to them being vulnerable or extremely vulnerable.
Confirmation that throughout the duration of the delivery, house occupants are able to social distance and take themselves away, ideally into another room or outside while the delivery is taking place.
Confirmation that any children will be supervised during the delivery.
Agreement that all doors/gates will be opened and if required secured open to prevent them closing ahead of the delivery by the property occupants. The delivery should be able to be made without our drivers being required to touch or open doors unnecessarily
Confirmation that sufficient planning has taken place to ensure that there is enough space for the kitchen to be delivered.
Contact name and number for place of delivery if this is not our usual customer contact. Please note it is imperative that we can get in touch with your customer ahead of their delivery.
A signature will not be required as confirmation of delivery.

Further to this our drivers will undertake the following to ensure their safety and customer’s safety:
Daily temperature and health checks will be completed at the beginning of each shift and anyone reporting any of the afore mentioned symptoms will be required to self-isolate and not work.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times and include:Face protection
Gloves
Before and after each delivery hands will be either washed with soap and water or with hand sanitizer
Sanitise any touch points including door handles, sack trucks and trolleys.
Utilise welfare facilities where these are available and advised safe to use by customer, client or business owner in accordance with their protocols.
Social distance at all times and ensure that they come no closer than 2m with the occupants of the property.
On arrival at the property, check with the customers that they are happy with the measures put in place and confirm that they are happy for the delivery to take please.
Finally, please note that it will be at the driver’s discretion to ensure that these requirements have been met. If they do not feel comfortable with the arrangements in place, then they will be able to refuse to enter the property and to either deliver to the kerbside or to refuse the delivery. Obviously, this is something we are keen to avoid, so ask for your co-operation in the matter so we can try to get back to some sort of normality.
